Yeates Catering was founded in 2018 by Ralph and Julie Yeates, a husband-and-wife team with a shared passion for great food and great service. What began as a small family idea soon grew into a successful mobile catering business, loved for its friendly atmosphere and traditional, freshly cooked fish and chips.
How It All Began
In the early days, Ralph and Julie started with a simple vision: bring high-quality, comforting food directly to local events, villages, and communities. They wanted to offer something warm, welcoming and unforgettable — and nothing brings people together quite like proper fish and chips.
But the journey wasn’t always easy.
One of their biggest early challenges was mastering the perfect fish and chips. From choosing the right potatoes for fluffy-inside, crispy-outside chips, to learning the ideal batter consistency, to finding the best sustainable fish suppliers — every detail mattered. Ralph spent months perfecting the frying technique, while Julie focused on developing a menu that guests of all ages would enjoy.
Through dedication, countless trials, and invaluable feedback from customers, they created the signature taste that Yeates Catering is known for today.
